Barons Court Tube Station

Barons Court Tube station is in West Kensington. It serves the District and the Piccadilly line. The tracks through Barons Court were first opened in September 1874 where the area was open fields and market gardens. In the beginning of the 20th century the area had been developed for housing. In October 1905 opened the station to serve the new developments in preparation for opening of the Great Northern, Piccadilly and Brompton Railway (GNP&BR, is now the Piccadilly line)which was under construction at that time. In December 1906 it began running between Hammersmith and Finsbury Park.
